I did this mani a while ago, and completely without meaning to I think I created an army mani. The colors together just remind me of an old army ad or something! I really liked it. For the base color, I used Essie's 'armed and ready' which is so pretty. And for the accent nail I used wet and wilds cougar town, I think was the name of it. I love the Essie color, it's a deep green or grey, but the shimmer in it is super hard to get, but so pretty when you do see it!

Revlon Whimsical!

Yes! I got whimsical! I went to bed bath and beyond, and didn't expect it to be there, but there it was, one little bottle just wanting to be bought and worn by me!

Anyways, it's a terrible cold cloudy day out, so while I bought a color club baby blue, I decided to put it over loreals greycian goddess, a dusty gray. I was surprised by how hard it was to apply!

Kind of an hombre?

I haven't played around much with hombre nails.  Mostly because I feel like I don't have enough colors in the same range that would create an hombre effect.  Anyways, today I made horizontal stripes in pink! I used OPI Bubble Bath as a base pink.

(Yes, that is my right hand.  Weird. And for some reason the nails on my right hand are larger than my left.  I hate it.)

Was debating whether I should have the dark pink on the tips, or dark pink on the base of the nail.  I seriously couldn't decide.  I figured light pink at the tips might take on a french manicure look.  But I thought it would look cool with the darker on the tips.  So I did both! I taped off my nails and added my mid-way pink.  It is called 'Sexier' and came with a Lily of France bra that my grandma got, and gave me the nail polishes.  Weird? Maybe a little. But my grandmas awesome so its okay.

This was the resulting effect.

I waited a while for that to dry (I ate dinner, Old Spaghetti Factory leftovers, they were delicious)
And then added my last pink OPI's Strawberry Margarita.

Please ignore the mess up on the pinky.  It looks terrible from here, the picture makes it look way worse than it is hahaha.  Anyways, that was the final effect.  Do you guys like it? To be perfectly honest, it just didn't do it for me.  There is something that isn't my favorite about it.  Thoughts?

For Audrey Part Two

So I woke up and still LOVED the Tiffanys blue that was on my fingers.  I remember seeing pictures of for audrey before I got it and always thinking it wasn't exactly Tiffanys Blue.  However, here I am proving myself wrong.

Thats so the perfect color!

So later on, (tonight) I decided to add white tips to see what it would look like.  I did it super quickly, without the intention of leaving it on, so yes it looks terrible.  Don't judge.

I really like the way it looks!! What do you guys think?

For Audrey!

So I know I am like years late on this, but I went to my local Sally Beauty today and got China Glazes For Audrey.  I have wanted it forever, just never went ahead and got it. (Plus China Glaze is like super hard to come by in my area.) I absolutely love the color, and am so excited for everything that could come of it! I think it would look really good with white tips, or with white stamps, also, if you painted white nails and used For Audrey as the tips, I think its a great color!

P.S. Terrible pic....I was in a movie theatre before the movie started and had an argument with a friend over chubby fingers...which resulted in me taking a picture of my hand to send.  Nonetheless, while my skin looks ghostly, I think it is pretty accurate of For Audrey, Such a gorgeous color! While I was putting it on, a coworker walked by and said "Ooh looks just like tiffanys."

Stamping Fun!

So yesterday I was at my local Grocery Outlet, and they had the cheap knockoff of Konad Stamping Plates! I am the type of person that would think about getting the Konad Stamping kit forever and never actually do it.  I have heard a lot of people complain about how the metal scrapers scrape the plates, and that is something that I noticed right away, but I figured oh well, so what?

Anyways, this is my first attempt at stamping! (Well not completely first, I played a little earlier, and did the girls I nanny for nails.)

I first used two coats of OPI Bubble Bath (a super pale ballerina pink).

I then used OPI Strawberry Margarita for the stamping. It didn't turn out as dark as I would have liked, so I decided to use a little of a Rimmel shade that I have for a few flowers (the bottle is on my desk and I am far too lazy to get up and see the color name) It is a deep shimmery black/purple color.

After I stamped, I liked it, but it was missing something.  Black tips of course!

Here is the finished result, I liked it!

Fun Random Manis

These are both super fun mani's!
For the first one, it was super duper easy.
I started with two coats of Rimmel Black Satin  (except for on my accent or ring finger)
For my accent finger I used two coats of Wet N Wilds Teal of Fortune (which, by the way, stains super bad).
Once that had dried plenty, I cut small strips of tape and applied it onto the nail, and painted black on top.  I remove the tape immediately and this was the result!

This was an easy, fun mani that isn't too overdone.  (The picture was taken before I applied Seche Vite)

This second mani, I was a little dissapointed in.  I was inspired by something I saw on pinterest, quite some time ago.  I don't have a dotting tool, so I used the end of a makeup brush, but it gave me uneven dots, which I HATED.  Also, I free handed the heart, which I also did not like the end result of.  I think that had I had better tools, I would have LOVED this mani.  I think that it is something I would try again someday.

What do you guys think?

Muppets Collection

For Christmas My mom got me a sampler of the muppets collection.  It had three polishes, one glitter, one red shimmer and two holos.  One is gold and one is silver.  Overall I love the polishes, they all apply great and give you beautiful color.

I was feeling frustrated with nail polish in general the other night and I wanted something simple. However black looked bad, pink didn't seem like enough, so finally I figured out what might work.  I first used my go to black (Rimmel 399 Black Satin) and used two coats.  I then put my muppets Wocka Wocka over it.
This was the result.

Please pretend like you don't see the staining on my cuticles (I was being lazy and didn't realize that the cleanup would be such a be-yotch)
I was really impressed with it, I loved the way it looked.  It was super deep but when the sun hit it, the red really came out.  There is the slightest gold undertone in the red too, which I love.

This mani was a bit more complicated.
I started off with one coat of the Designer...De Better! of the muppets collection.  It is a super light silver holo.  However, I felt like I wanted it a bit darker.  So I added a coat of Warm and Fozzie which is a deep gold holo.  However, I thought that seemed too dark, so I added another coat of the Designer...De Better! which pretty much covered up the Warm and Fozzie.  I liked the color that I came out with (not quite as light and sheer, but there was no gold visible).  But of course, I decided to add my Essie Matte About You topcoat and make it matte.  I was absolutely thrilled with the end result, I will definitely do this mani again, I LOVED it.

Wet N Wild Spoiled collection!

So I was super stoked to find out about this collection and immediately went to CVS to find it.  I found it hidden behind a sally hansen display. I bought four polishes : Ants in my pants (jelly like black with red hexagonal and tiny glitter), Shrimp on the Barbie (light pink with a pretty gold shimmer),  Club Rat (a deep pink with pink/gold shimmer), and Pirates booty (a gold glitter top coat)

So I used all of them in a patchwork mani that I did

(Original idea for patchwork mani from Chloe's Nails, which if you haven't checked her out before, you must!)

Here is another shot of the colors

The darker pink (the shimmer clearly did not show up well) is club rat.
The Shrimp on the barbie (what is with these names?) showed up much more true to life in the pictures.
The gold glitter is kinda sparse, which made it hard with only one coat, which is why this mani lasted about five minutes before i was over the chunky/crappy lines with the overly glitter.

The only polish from the spoiled collection not used was Ants in my Pants, which may have been my favorite (I don't know, i absolutely love Shrimp on the barbie.)

Overall, I am very impressed with this collection!

Old Manis

My favorite thing (which I learned on Chloes Nails) are Scotch Tape manis! She is obsessed with scotch tape, and it works so well! I unfortunately cannot use it for french manicures (something about the way my nail is shaped makes it look terrible), but I love using it for everything else!

1) Here is a mani I did earlier today.

I started with two coats of Sinful Colors Nirvana which is a beautiful taupe color.  Its a creme but is so shiny, its fantastic.

I then taped off each nail differently to create cool and unique patterns!
(Sorry about the crappy cell phone pic, all I had at the time)

I really like the way it turned out! I think its cool to switch it up and have a different design on each finger.

2) Here is a mani I did a few days ago.  I really liked it! Which definitely surprised me.  It was a color that my sister gave me for christmas, it was bright green!

I started with two coats (although it really only needed one!) of Sephora Lime Cocktail

(Picture borrowed from Lacquer and Lattes, another awesome nail blog!)
I then added two coats (one looked good but I decided to get more dense sparkles) of Sinful Colors Pearl Harbor

And this is what I ended up with (Yet again, cell phone pic)

I don't know about you guys but I super duper loved it! I thought the blue sparkles really offset the green.  I will DEFINITELY do this mani again.
Let me know what you think!

Neutral Nails

So I got this new nail polish today and I LOVE it.  It is my new go-to mani for sure.  It is Rimmel lasting finish pro 260 Gold Silk.

It is fantastic, pale gold and shimmery, perfect for a subtle but beautiful color on your nails.

I definitely need to perfect my picture taking skills, sorry for the uber awkward skin tone and the not crystal clear nails.

My first post!

So I am totally new to the world of blogging!

I am obsessed with painting my nails, I paint them generally everyday, but mostly because I get bored easily and painting my nails cures my boredom!

I am going to be posting pictures of nail polishes, fun manicures, awesome colors that I love, and anything that sparks my interest!

I am not perfect at painting my nails, so I look forward to being able to get better at it, and have it reflected through pictures!

I use burts bee's cuticle cream, it's super good and smells great!
I use different base coats, but generally it is Sally Hansen's maximum growth.
I always use Seche Vite (SV) as a top coat, it will seriously change your life.

Hopefully you like my blog!
